Carlisle Gun Club Meeting Minutes
10/30/2017

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by the Club President; there were 25 members present.

The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Officers present: President, Treasurer, Recording Secretary, and 2 Trustees.

The Minutes for the September 25, 2017 meeting were read and accepted.

Treasurer’s Report was read and accepted.  The total balance of all accounts, checking, savings, CDs and Training Fund amounted to $45,675.90.  The treasurer also reported that there is currently $10,110 in the PayPal account.

Corresponding Secretary’s Report.  No report

Membership.   There were no candidates for membership.

NRA Training Committee Report- Reported a total balance of $3,117.57 in the training account.  Reported on the Training group activities for the month of October 2017 and the projected activities for the remainder of the year which included the Personal Protection Outside the Home course in November.  They are currently developing the plan for training for 2018.

4H Shooters– Reported they have started practicing again on Thursday evenings.

Cowboy Action.  Reported they are ready for the upcoming Action Shoots in January and February.

Membership Committee.  Reported that about 53% of membership renewals for 2018 came through PayPal.  There are about 96 applicants for membership.

WPPL Pistol Team.  After 8 matches both the Gold and Blues Teams are in 6th place.   

Trustees Report.- Reported they have been attending to minor repairs around the building.

New Business- 

-Recently a Gun Club neighbor reported suspicious activity, potentially criminal, in the area of the club parking lot.   As a precaution, club members are asked to report any suspicious vehicles or activity in the club area to the State Police.

-Members were advised of a discount granted to the club from the HolsterOps Company.

-Tom Richwine received an email from the president of the Carlisle (UK) Gun Club inquiring if our club would be interested in a Club Competition.  This was a past practice some years ago.  After discussion, the consensus from the membership present was to renew the competition if at all possible.

-Curb Barriers.  There was a discussion on the possibility of installing Curb Barriers in the parking lot.  Barb Vanner made a motion to approve funds, Not To Exceed, $600 for the purchase and installation of barriers and related materials.  The motion was voted and approved.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:35pm.
