Meeting Minutes December 2018

Carlisle Gun Club Meeting Minutes
12/17/2018

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by the Club President.

The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Officers present:President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Corresponding Secretary, Recording Secretary and 3 Trustees.  There were 30 members present.

The Minutes for the November 2018 meeting were read and approved. 

Treasurer’s Report was read and accepted.

Corresponding Secretary’s Report-Recently sent 3 emails to all members.

NRA Training Group Report-The NRA Training Group reported on training they conducted in December with a total of 11 students.  All training objectives were achieved. The training calendar for 2019 is complete and is posted on the Club’s website.

New Members- There were 15 new members processed into the Club.

4H Sharpshooters– There are 10 juniors shooting for the 4H.  They will be serving food for the Cowboy Action in January & February. Also, a rifle that recently malfunctioned is being repaired.

Cowboy Action- The Cowboy Action Shoots for 2018 are scheduled for January 5thand February 2ndstarting at 10am.

Membership Committee- Currently the CGC is processing new members.  Tony is working on a report to identify range usage trends and number of members using the club.

WPPL Pistol Team- The team is moving up in scores and rankings.  To help encourage more shooters to join the team, they were asked to give a demonstration at a future CGC meeting.

Trustees Report– The water leak at the main handwashing station was repaired.

Old Business-

Membership– There was a motion to increase the membership limit from 400 to 500.  After much discussion and a vote, the motion was approved.

Wi-Fi- Mike Kubarek reported on internet services and quotes from Comcast and CenturyLink.  Considerable discussion followed.  The Trustees were asked to present a recommendation at the next CGC meeting and a vote will take place.

New Business-

Range Notice- It was suggested that club members receive at least a 2 week notice when the range will be closed.

Additional Staff- Due to the amount of time and work involved in the membership process, more members are needed to volunteer on the Membership Committee. Please see Tony for more information.

For the Good of the Club-

Safety- Safety must be kept a number one priority at all times.  With our membership increasing, and more shooters on the range, everyone must continue to exercise safety and caution.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:27 pm
