The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by the Club President.

The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Officers present: President, Treasurer, Corresponding Secretary, Recording Secretary and 2 Trustees.  There were 29 members present.

The Minutes for the November 2019 meeting were read and approved. 

Treasurer’s Report was read and accepted.  The total balance of all accounts, checking, savings, CDs and Training Fund amounted to $79,263.37.

Corresponding Secretary’s Report- No Report.

NRA Training Group Report- CGC NRA Instructors conducted an NRA Defensive Pistol course for 5 shooters and all requirements were met. CGC members Dr. Jim Hurley and Ms. Barbara Vanner recently conducted a Bleeding Control Basics Course (also known as “Stop the Bleed”).  There were 8 CGC members who completed the course.

New Members- There were 18 new members processed into the Club.

4-H Sharpshooters– Recently the two youngest shooters competed in their first match.  On January 18^th, six shooters will be competing in the Palmyra Invitational.  Also, the team is in need of 2 Left-handed Savage rifles.

Cowboy Action- The Cowboy Action group activities will resume in January.  Contact Rick Blosser for more information.

Membership Committee- Currently there are 452 active members and 26 pending new member applications.  Please be reminded that Sponsors must be present at the meeting when a new member is being inducted.

WPPL Pistol Team- No Report.

Technology and Security Committee- There was a short in the main entrance door that prevented members from gaining access to the club.  The magnet on the latch was bad and has been repaired.   Also, there’s a problem with logging into the computer system at the CGC to activate new members’ fobs.  The fobs will be issued and activated at a later date.

Trustees Report– The roof was repaired with rubber roofing by a CGC member.  The main entrance door lock was repaired.  The heating system still needs to be serviced as now the coin operated heater is non-operational.

Old Business-

NRA-ILA- Tonight is the last opportunity to give our Treasurer any financial contributions to support the NRA-ILA .  The CGC will match donations up to $500.

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by the Club President.

The Minutes for the October 2019 meeting were read and approved. 

Treasurer’s Report was readand accepted.

Corresponding Secretary’s Report-Emails have been sent to keep members informed of range activities and the monthly meeting agenda.

NRA Training Group Report-CGC NRA Instructors conducted an NRA Basics of Personal Protection Outside the Homecourse for 5 shooters and all requirements were met. The 2020 Training calendar is posted on the Carlisle Gun Club website under the “Training” tab.

New Members- There were 8 new members processed into the Club.

4-H Sharpshooters– No Report.

Cowboy Action- The Cowboy Action group activities will resume in January.  Contact Rick Blosser for more information.

Membership Committee- Currently there are 424 active members and 33 new member applications.

WPPL Pistol Team- The teams are currently in 6^thand 7^thplace. By joining a team, you will improve your shooting skills and accuracy.   Contact Gary Gibson or Dick Pryor for more details.

Trustees Report– The lines on the range have been freshly painted, a motor has been installed on the air in-take and repairs have been made on the main entrance door’s dead bolt.  However, help is still needed to service the heaters. Also, after the recent snow a roof leak was discovered on the range.  Dick Pryor has volunteered to inspect the roof and possibly patch with rubber roofing.

Technology and Security Committee- The Committee is working on the needed upgrades.  The camera security system software agreement needs to be renewed. A motion was passed to authorize $300 for the license renewal and trip charge.

New Business-

New Committees- It was suggested that funds be set aside to purchase laptops for the new chairmen of the Membership Committee and the Technology and Security Committee. Darren Snow has one laptop and is checking with his workplace for another one.

2020 Budget- The Budget will be reviewed and adjusted accordingly for the building, technology, etcetera.

Volunteers-Discussion was opened regarding compensating our CGC volunteers.  There are a number of members who consistently give of their time and talents. It was suggested that volunteers who meet a certain criteria be rewarded annual membership at no cost.  Further thought and discussion is needed to develop the criteria, and possibly a type of point system.  It was approved to table this discussion until February.

The December meeting will be held on the last Monday of the month as usual, so we can continue to process new members.

NRA Training Group Report-CGC NRA Instructors led an NRA Refuse to Be a Victimseminar for 68 students.  All attendees completed seminar requirements. CGC NRA Instructors conducted an NRA Basics of Personal Protection in the Home course for 9 shooters and all requirements were met. The 2020 Training calendar will be posted on the Carlisle Gun Club website under the “Training” tab.

New Members- There were no new members processed into the Club.  Voting and processing of new members will resume in November.

4-H Sharpshooters– There are 8 returning and 5 new Junior shooters this season.  Two of the Juniors are left-handed so appropriate rifles will be purchased using the funds earned at the recent fundraiser event at Blue Ridge Sportsman Club.

Cowboy Action- No Report.

Membership Committee- Currently there are 410 membership renewals and 30 new member applications. Rob Stewart and Gene Heyman have volunteered to lead the Membership Committee.  Thank you to the volunteers that have agreed to help with new applications, emails, the membership roster, etc.

WPPL Pistol Team- The teams are currently in 5^thand 6^thplace.  If you want to learn how to shoot, join a team! Contact Gary Gibson or Dick Pryor for more details.

Trustees Report– There was a good response to the email asking for help with line painting on the range and repairing the main entrance door’s dead bolt.  The CGC will be closed Sunday, November 17^thfor these maintenance items.  However, help is still needed to service the heaters before cold weather arrives.

Technology and Security Committee- The Committee identified some areas that are in need of upgrades or enhancements. The upgrades include a professional-grade firewall, wireless network access point, a solid state drive and Windows 10 Pro License.  A motion was passed to authorize a $1200 budget for these items.

A Second Amendment Rally will be held at the nation’s capitol on Saturday, November 2^ndfrom 1pm-4pm.

The Minutes for the August 2019 meeting were read and approved.

Corresponding Secretary’s Report-Several emails have been sent to members regarding membership renewal.

NRA Training Group Report-CGC NRA Instructors led an NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting course with a total of 24 shooters. All training objectives were achieved. An NRA Basics of Personal Protection in the Home course will be held October 18^th& 19^th. The Club recently hosted an US Law Shield Seminar with approximately 30 attendees.  Also, “thank you” to the 42 CGC members who contributed at least 3 hours of work during the recent Club Work Day.

New Members- There were no new members processed into the Club.  Voting and processing of new members will resume in November.

4H Shooters– The new season started September 26^thwith a pizza party, equipment check and awards ceremony.  A fundraiser is planned for Oct. 3^rdat Blue Ridge Sportsman Club.

Cowboy Action- A 22 caliber Cowboy Shoot will be held October 19^thstarting at 9:30am with a safety meeting and shooting at 10:00am.  Contact Rick Blosser for more information.

Membership Committee- Membership renewals will continue to be processed until the end of November. There is now a $10 late fee.  New member applications continue to be accepted.

WPPL Pistol Team- The team started the season in first place, but no longer are there so they need more shooters.  Practice is on Tuesday evenings at 7:00pm and matches are on Wednesday evenings with arrival at 6:30pm. Contact Gary Gibson or Dick Pryor for more details.

Trustees Report– The heaters will need to be serviced before cold weather arrives.  Also the dead bolt on the main entrance door needs repaired.

Technology and Security Committee- Thank you to the volunteers who stepped forward to serve on this committee. It was noted that the camera system needs serviced due to one of the cameras not showing up on the monitor.

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by the Club President.

Corresponding Secretary’s Report-Recently several emails have been sent to members regarding membership renewal and fob use to gain access to the Club.

NRA Training Group Report-CGC NRA Instructor led courses will resume in September.  There are 2 BOPS classes scheduled and only a few seats are currently available.

New Members- There were no new members processed into the Club. 

4H Shooters– They recently participated in the 4-H Shooters Sports Nationals with one shooter placing 5^th.  Also, they competed in the Consolidated Sportsman Club shoot and took 1^stplace in the Junior Team.  Practice will resume Sept. 26^th.

Cowboy Action- No Report.

Trustees Report– Recently there were a few members experiencing issues with gaining access to the club. Hilton’s Lock Service was called and they found no problems.  Members are reminded to swipe their fob first and then pull the door open.

Old Business-

NRA Grant- The check for the gun safe was received and a safe will be purchased at Dunham’s and transferred to the Club.

US Law Shield- Another seminar is scheduled for Sunday, September 29^that 1:00pm. All are encouraged to attend.  Gun laws, concealment and transportation will be discussed.

NRA-ILA-The CGC is accepting donations for the NRA-ILA, and will match donations up to $500.

NRA CCW- A new NRA course designed to meet the requirements for states that issue Concealed Carry permits in anticipation of National reciprocity in the future.  Slim Conners will be trained in this new 10 module course. A motion was passed for Slim to be reimbursed for expenses incurred due to this training.

New Business-

Stop the Bleed-Dr. Jim Hurley and Barb Vanner will be offering this course in the Fall.  Date and venue to be announced.  This valuable training will teach you how to stop massive bleeding until first responders arrive.  Sign up at www.bleedingcontrol.org

Membership and Security-Currently only one member is responsible for all of the tasks involved in club memberships and security.  It has been recommended that a new committee be formed for Security with 2-3 members and at least 1 Trustee.  Also, more help is needed on the Membership Committee.

NRA Training Group Report-CGC NRA Instructors assisted with training 67 youth shooters during the PA State Police Youth Week program. In addition to in-processing 18 new members, CGC NRA instructors provided more than 17 hours of training in June.  CGC NRA Instructor led courses will resume in September.

New Members- There were 10 new members processed into the Club. 

4H Shooters– No Report.

Cowboy Action- No Report.

Membership Committee- Applicants will continue to be processed during upcoming meetings.  Currently there are 22 available spots for new members.

WPPL Pistol Team- The Pistol Team recently enjoyed a banquet with nice door prizes.  They are currently looking for more shooters. Practice is on Tuesday evenings until the matches start back up in September. Contact Gary Gibson or Dick Pryor if you are interested in joining the team.

Old Business-

NRA Grant- The grant has been fulfilled; however we are waiting on a check for the gun safe since they were out of stock.

US Law Shield- The seminar was held in June and was very successful.  If there’s interest, more seminars might be offered in the future.

New Business-

NRA-ILA-A motion was passed for the CGC to start accepting donations now for the NRA-ILA.  Clayton will send a reminder email to all members.

NRA CCW- There was much discussion about a new NRA course designed to meet the minimum requirements of all the different states that issue Concealed Carry permits.  The course requires NRA Instructors to be trained in this new course to qualify to teach.  The CGC board will research and discuss this further and then report back to the Club.

Dues- Membership dues will remain at $60/year for 2020.
