Carlisle Gun Club Meeting Minutes
10/28/2019

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by the Club President.

The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Officers present: President, Corresponding Secretary, Recording Secretary and 2 Trustees.  There were 24 members present.

The Minutes for the September 2019 meeting were read and approved. 

Treasurer’s Report was readand accepted.

Corresponding Secretary’s Report-No Report.

NRA Training Group Report-CGC NRA Instructors led an NRA Refuse to Be a Victimseminar for 68 students.  All attendees completed seminar requirements. CGC NRA Instructors conducted an NRA Basics of Personal Protection in the Home course for 9 shooters and all requirements were met. The 2020 Training calendar will be posted on the Carlisle Gun Club website under the “Training” tab.

New Members- There were no new members processed into the Club.  Voting and processing of new members will resume in November.

4-H Sharpshooters– There are 8 returning and 5 new Junior shooters this season.  Two of the Juniors are left-handed so appropriate rifles will be purchased using the funds earned at the recent fundraiser event at Blue Ridge Sportsman Club.

Cowboy Action- No Report.

Membership Committee- Currently there are 410 membership renewals and 30 new member applications. Rob Stewart and Gene Heyman have volunteered to lead the Membership Committee.  Thank you to the volunteers that have agreed to help with new applications, emails, the membership roster, etc.

WPPL Pistol Team- The teams are currently in 5thand 6thplace.  If you want to learn how to shoot, join a team! Contact Gary Gibson or Dick Pryor for more details.

Trustees Report– There was a good response to the email asking for help with line painting on the range and repairing the main entrance door’s dead bolt.  The CGC will be closed Sunday, November 17thfor these maintenance items.  However, help is still needed to service the heaters before cold weather arrives.

Technology and Security Committee- The Committee identified some areas that are in need of upgrades or enhancements. The upgrades include a professional-grade firewall, wireless network access point, a solid state drive and Windows 10 Pro License.  A motion was passed to authorize a $1200 budget for these items.

For the Good of the Club-

A Second Amendment Rally will be held at the nation’s capitol on Saturday, November 2ndfrom 1pm-4pm.

A reminder that Tuesday, November 5this Election Day.
