Carlisle Gun Club Meeting Minutes
09/26/2022

The meeting was called to order at 6:59 pm by the Club President.

The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Officers and Members Present: President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary and three Trustees. There were 36 members present.

Minutes for the 29 August 2022 meeting will be posted at a later date.

Treasurer Report was read and approved.  The total balance of all accounts, checking, savings, CDs, less $2,274.21 in the Training Fund, amounted to $118,110.94. Motion to accept the Treasurer Report, as read, was made by Mike Kubarek, seconded by Denny Kuehn. The motion carried.

Corresponding Secretary Report – Scot Storey. Sent four member broadcast emails: one announcing the CGC officer election slate, one reminding members that dues are to be paid during the month of September, one announcing range closure for cleaning, and one announcing the 26 September General Membership meeting.

CGC Training Group Activities Report Denny Kuehn. The CGC Training Fund balance was $2,274.21. CGC NRA instructors hosted 2 NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting – Instructor Led Only courses in September 2022. There were 18 shooters in these courses. All shooters completed course requirements. CGC NRA instructors will host an NRA Basics of Personal Protection In The Home course on 14-15 October 2022. There are 12 shooters registered for 16 training slots. Prerequisite is completion of BOPS. Cost is $80. Register online at nrainstructors.org and use the Defensive Pistol pull-down menu. New Members None.

4-H Youth Small-Bore Rifle Shooting Program John Gingrich. The older youth shooters will begin practice on Thursday, 29 September and the younger and newer youth shooters will begin practice on                Thursday, 6 October. The Gingriches will attend a Higher Information Group meeting on 13 October 2022 to discuss HIG, LLC community service support of youth shooting sports programs.

Cowboy Action – Rick Blosser. No report.

Membership CommitteeRob Stewart. There are currently 478 active members, leaving 22 remaining available membership slots. There are 18 current, valid membership applications, two without a Club sponsor. To date, there were 314 membership renewals, with another 13 or 14 more at the 26 September meeting. Membership numbers will be scrubbed at the end of October before new members are voted on in November.

Technology and Security Committee – John Haiduck. Nothing to report.

WPPL Pistol Team – Gary Gibson. The WPPL has held 3 matches, so far. Gold Team is in 8th place and Blue Team is tied for 9th place.

Trustees Report – Nothing to report.

Old Business – None.

New Business President Steve Baker chaired the nomination committee for 2022-2023 CGC officer elections. Because there was only one nominee for each position, the slate was presented as Kurt Uhler, Pres; Steve Baker, Vice-Pres; Darren Snow, Treasurer; Slim Connors, Recording Sec; Scot Storey, Corresponding Sec; Phil Dyche, Trustee. The CGC Webmaster remains Matt Creason and there is no change to committee assignments. Motion to accept the slate, as presented, was made by Mike Kubarek, seconded by Bob Berrettini.                 The motion carried.

For the Good of the Club –                                                                                                                                    1. Tom Richwine. Wednesday, 5 October 2022 at noon in the open field near the Greek Orthodox Church on the north side of PA Hwy 174 West just east of Burnthouse Rd, there will be a National Guard Strategic Jump operation comprised of a C-17 and a jump by the 3d Bn, 75 Ranger Rgt from Ft Benning, GA.                                                           2. Steve Baker. President Steve reminded members that at the next CGC General Membership meeting, an update will be provided on the status of solicitation of private donations through the month of October for the NRA Institute for Legislative Action (NRA ILA) with matching club funds up to $500 and the status of solicitation of private donations through the month of October for the Cumberland County Special Response Team with matching CGC funds up to $2000.

Motion to Adjourn was made by Mike Kubarek, seconded by Courtney Genise. The motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 7:13pm.
