September 3, 2026Carlisle Gun Club Meeting Minutes
August 31, 2026
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by the club President.
The Meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Officers and Members Present: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Recording Secretary, and 2 trustees were present. There were 31 members present.
Approval of Minutes from Prior Meeting. The minutes for the July 2026 meeting were read by the Recording Secretary. A motion to accept the minutes was made by Denny Keuhn. The motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report. The Treasurer’s Report was read by the Treasurer. The total balance of all accounts and CDs amounted to $79,636.46. The Treasurer reported that the last CD was transferred to the savings account. A motion to accept the report was made by Mike Bonasera. The motion carried. See attached Members 1st statement.
Corresponding Secretary’s Report. Matt Starcher reported that he sent out reminders to the club about the upcoming Swap Meet and that club membership dues needed to be paid by September 30.
NRA Training Group Activities Report. The NRA Training Group Activities Report for August 2026 was read by Denny Keuhn. The group training fund had an ending balance of $2378.04. Denny reported CGC NRA instructors will host an NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting – Instructor Led Only course on 11 & 12 September 2026. See the attached report.
New Members Accepted into the Club. There were 3 new members accepted into the club. See the attached roster spreadsheet.
4H Youth Small Bore Rifle Shooting Program – No Report. The president reemphasized the need for someone to take on the duty as sponsor of the 4H shooter program.
Cowboy Action Shooters. No Report
Membership Committee Report. Wanda Bonasera reported that Sue Heist will be available at the September meeting to collect dues. The club currently has 432 members including the 3 members accepted tonight. There are 4 applications waiting to be processed 2 of which do not have sponsors. See attached report.
Technology and Security Committee. No Report
WPPL Pistol Team. Gary Gibson reported that their first matched in on September 16 and the first home match here at Carlisle is on September 23.
Trustees Report. Mike Bonasera reported on the following projects:
-Exhaust Fan Shroud Rebuild
-Range Ceiling Project
-200 Amp Electrical Panel Upgrade
-Range Update
–A question was raised regarding the range heater system and whether it could be serviced or replaced. The president stated we will investigate servicing the heater system. See the attached report.
Old Business.
-The President encouraged club members to participate in the upcoming Club swap meet.
-The president reviewed the drainage plan for the upcoming Sheets construction on existing club property. He also reported that Sheetz is offering $14,000 for the acquisition of the property needed to construct the turn from Petersburg Road onto the road leading to Sheetz. He also addressed the history of changes and negotiations with Sheetz over the past two years.
New Business.
–There will be a vote on new club officers at the September meeting.
-Darren Snow nominated the following individuals for club officers.

Tom Shepherd for Vice President
Sue Heist for Treasurer
Joe Wasiak for Recording Secretary
Mike Kubarek made a motion to close nominations. Motion carried.
For the Good of the Club. -There was a reminder that the swap meet was not just for shooting supplies. It also includes other sporting equipment.
-Sue Heist made a call for members to consider joining the William Penn Pistol Team.
Adjournment. Courtney Genise made a motion to Adjourn. Motion Carried. Meeting was adjourned at 7:45 pm.
