Carlisle Gun Club Meeting Minutes
September 30, 2024

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by the club President.

The Meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Officers and Members Present:  President, Treasurer, Recording Secretary, and 1 trustee were present.  There were 23 members present.  

Approval of Minutes from Prior Meeting.  The minutes for the August meeting were read by the Recording Secretary. A motion to accept the minutes was made by Courtney Geense.  The motion carried.  

Treasurer’s Report. The Treasurer’s Report was read by the Treasurer.  The total balance of all accounts and CDs amounted to $117,251.74.  A motion to accept the report was made by George Lawrence. The motion carried.  

Corresponding Secretary’s Report.  There were emails sent to membership on the August meeting and elections and a reminder on dues.  There was also a message asking for assistance with the HVAC heater system on the range.  

NRA Training Group Activities Report.  The NRA Training Group report for August and September was read by Slim Connors.  The group training fund had a balance of $2252.02.  The Training Group conducted a Basics of Pistol Shooting course for 15 students on September 13/14.  There will be a Personal Protection In the Home Course conducted on October 11/12.  See the attached report.    

New Members Accepted into the Club.   There were no new members accepted into the club.  New members will be brought into the club beginning in November.  

4H Youth Small Bore Rifle Shooting Program.  The shooting program started up again on September 26.  They are still looking for a replacement for John Gingrich.

Cowboy Action Shooters.  NSTR  

Membership Committee Report.   FY 25 annual dues collection ended today.  After today a late fee of $10 will be added to any members renewing between now and the end of October.  The club has 447 active members and 12 applications waiting to be processed.  See attached report.  

Technology and Security Committee.  NSTR 

WPPL Pistol Team.  NSTR

Trustees Report.  George Lawrence report that one of the heaters on the range needs to be repaired.         

Old Business.  

-The president gave a brief update on the progress of the new Sheetz gas station.

-Club Elections.  Tom Richwine made a motion that the slate of candidates presented at the August meeting be accepted as presented.  The motion carried.  Candidates included:

President- Tom Shepherd

Vice President- Kurt Uhler

Treasurer-  Sue Heist

Recording Secretary- Joe Wasiak

Corresponding Secretary- Patrick Wanner

Trustee- Mike Bonasera

New Business.  

-National Elections.  Laszlo Pasztor gave an update on the mail-in voting process.

-Denny Kuehn reminded club members not to throw food or other perishable trash in the trash containers in the club building and to use the outside dumpster.  

-Denny Kuehn suggested the club consider providing financial support, as we have in the past, to the County SRT again this year.

Adjournment.  George Lawrence made a motion to adjourn.  Motion Carried.  Meeting was adjourned at 7:32 pm.
