Carlisle Gun Club Meeting Minutes
June 2, 2025 (May Meeting)

The meeting was called to order at 7:05 pm by the club President.

The Meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Officers and Members Present:  President, Vice President, Treasurer, Recording Secretary, and 1 trustee was present.  There were 20 members present.  

Approval of Minutes from Prior Meeting.  The minutes for the April 2025 meeting were read by the Recording Secretary. A motion to accept the minutes was made by Jim Hurley.  The motion carried.  

Treasurer’s Report. The Treasurer’s Report was read by the Treasurer.  The total balance of all accounts and CDs amounted to $110,682.97.  A motion to accept the report was made by John Haiduck. The motion carried.  See attached Members 1st statement.  The Treasurer also report on billing from Waste Management for trash removal services.  

Corresponding Secretary’s Report.  No Report   

NRA Training Group Activities Report.  The NRA Training Group Activities Report for April 2025 was read by Slim Connors.  The group training fund had an ending balance of $4,986.88.   
Slim reported on the activities for May to include the following courses:

Basics of Pistol Shooting Instructor Course
NRA Home Firearms Safety Instructor Course
Personal Protection Inside the Home Instructor Course
Personal Protection Outside the Home Instructor Course Part 1
Range Safety Officer Course

Slim also announced the training projected for June to include:

Personal Protection Outside the Home Instructor Course Part 2
NRA Basic Rifle Instructor Course

New Members Accepted into the Club.   There was 1 new members accepted into the club.  See the attached roster spreadsheet.

4H Youth Small Bore Rifle Shooting Program – No Report 

Cowboy Action Shooters.  No Report

Membership Committee Report.   Wanda Bonasera reported that as of June 2 there were 438 members counting the 1 new member.  There are 4 new applications waiting to be processed.  See attached report.

Technology and Security Committee.  John Haiduck reported the cooling fans on the computer electronics housing were replaced.   

WPPL Pistol Team.  No Report.    

Trustees Report.  

Mike Bonasera reported on the exhaust fan exterior shroud rebuild and noise abatement and the time period for which the work estimate is valid.  He also reminded membership that the Range Impact Fan is below the Target turners, above the target stanchions, and inside the edges near the wall.  Mike also noted that the list of trustees on the club website needs to be updated.  

Old Business.  

-The President gave an update on the correspondence with representatives from Sheetz.  He also discussed the counter offer to Sheetz of $14,000. 

-The president gave an update on the tax free status of the club and discussions with a tax attorney on the way forward.  

-The president mention that a survey will be sent to all members soliciting input on future activities members would like to see in 2026.  

New Business.  None  

For the Good of the Club.  The Vice-President informed the club that PA Representative Barb Gleim will be hosting a presentation on Fish and Game Rule changes on 6/5/2025 at 6:00 pm at West Pensboro Fire House.   

Adjournment.  Slim Connors made a motion to adjourn.  Motion Carried.  Meeting was adjourned at 7:39 pm.
