Approval of Minutes from Prior Meeting.  The minutes for the January 2026 meeting were read by the Recording Secretary. A motion to accept the minutes was made by Slim Connors.  The motion carried.  

Treasurer’s Report. The Treasurer’s Report was read by the Treasurer.  The total balance of all accounts and CDs amounted to $113.072.63.  A motion to accept the report was made by John Haiduck.  The motion carried.  

Corresponding Secretary’s Report.  No Report  

NRA Training Group Activities Report.  The NRA Training Group Activities Report for February 2026 was read by Slim Connors.  The group training fund had an ending balance of $2,417.24.  Slim reported on the training activities for February which included an NRA Basics of Personal Protection in the Home Course.  The training activities scheduled for the upcoming months include a Personal Protection Outside the Home Course in March.    

New Members Accepted into the Club.   There were 6 new members accepted into the club.  See the attached roster spreadsheet.

4H Youth Small Bore Rifle Shooting Program – No Report   

Cowboy Action Shooters.  Rick Blosser reported that the 4H members made $170 at the January shoot.  The February Cowboy Action Shoot was cancelled due to extreme cold temperatures on the range.   

Membership Committee Report.   Wanda Bonasera reported as of February 2026 there were 416 members including the 6 members accepted tonight.  There are 5 applications waiting to be processed.  

Technology and Security Committee.  No Report

WPPL Pistol Team.  No report     

Trustees Report.  Mike Bonasera reported on the following action/issues:

Mike also reported the Gun Club website Governance page needs to be updated with the 2025-2026 officers and trustees.  Mike also addressed the April Clean-up date and elaborated on the lessons learned from last year’s clean-up, needed preparations prior to the clean-up day, and required equipment.  See attached Trustees Report.    

Old Business.  

-The President reported that 27 September is the potential date for the Fall Swap Meet.  The Alternate date is 18 October.  The planning committee will be attending the Carlisle Fish and Game Swap Meet on 15 March.  A registration page will be set up on the club website.  

New Business.  

-Laszlo Pasztor reported on Senate Bill 1155 which allows hunters and fishermen to register to vote when they get a new license.

NRA Training Group Activities Report.  The NRA Training Group Activities Report for January 2026 was read by Slim Connors.  The group training fund had an ending balance of $4086.05.  Slim reported on the training activities for January which included a Basics of Pistol Shooting Course.  The training activities scheduled for the upcoming months include a Personal Protection In the Home Course.  Slim also reported on the training conducted on the range by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office on January 31.  See the attached report.

4H Youth Small Bore Rifle Shooting Program – No Report   

Cowboy Action Shooters.  Rick Blosser reported that the Cowboy Action Shooters conducted a shoot on January 3 and their next Shoot is scheduled for February 7.  Discussion followed regarding the conflict with the February 7 NRA Personal Protection In the Home Course scheduled for the same day.   Further discussions to resolve this conflict followed the scheduled meeting.   

Membership Committee Report.   Mike Bonasera reported as of January 2026 there were 410 members including the 5 members accepted tonight.  There are 8 applications waiting to be processed.  

Technology and Security Committee.  John Haiduck reported that if anyone has issues with their FOB to send an email to the club and he will reactivate the FOB.  

WPPL Pistol Team.  No report

There was a discussion on potential dates for the range maintenance/workdays for the Spring of 2026.  It was decided that April 24 & 25 would be the approved dates.  

There was a motion by Bill Gibson requesting $600 to buy material/install 3 door trims to compliment new windows. Motion was approved.   

There was a request for $600 to buy QUADZERO acoustic insulation and mounting hardware.   The discussion for this was tabled for the February meeting.

There was a motion by John Haiduck to approve $23,000 for materials for the range ceiling project. Motion was approved.

Mike Bonasera also recommended the club conduct a review of CGC member responsibilities regarding range maintenance.    

Old Business.  

-The President reported there /will be an email to club membership addressing a Fall 2026 Swap Meet.  

New Business.  

– Denny Keuhn recommended that the excess used cardboard targets be removed from the range.

The Treasurer’s Report was read by the Treasurer.  The total balance of all accounts and CDs amounted to $127,583.91.  A motion to accept the report was made by Rick Blosser.  The motion carried.  See attached Members 1^st statement.  Treasurer reported that the total funds contributed for the NRA-ILA was $170 which was matched by the club for a total contribution of $340.  The Comcast service was upgraded and the UGI rate was changed.

NRA Training Group Activities Report.  The NRA Training Group Activities Report for November 2025 was read by Slim Connors.  The group training fund had an ending balance of $3363.79.  Slim reported on the training activities for November which included a Personal Protection Outside the Home course conducted on 9 & 16 November.  The training activities scheduled for the upcoming months include a Defensive Pistol on 7 December.  See the attached report.

WPPL Pistol Team.  The team has completed 1/3 of the season.     

Trustees Report.  Mike Bonasera reported on the following action/issues:

WPPL Pistol Team.  No Report   

Trustees Report.  

–Mike Bonasera reported the material for the second exhaust fan rebuild has been ordered.   Moyer Glass provide a quote of $7100 for the replacement of 9 windows on the club building.  McCarrens provided a quote of $4400.  Mike recommends McCarrens.  Darren Snow made a motion to allocate $5000 for the window replacement.  Motion carried.  Mike further reported that the restrooms could not be made ADA compliant due to their small size.  He will proceed with a bathroom upgrade with new sinks and toilets and some electrical work.  Cost is approximately $1000 /bathroom.  Larry Kell made a motion to allocate $2000 for the bathroom renovations.  Motion carried.  

Old Business.  

-The President reported there is no new information on the situation with the construction of the new Sheetz.  The president also encouraged club members to consider taking on the position as the club representative to the 4H shooters.  

New Business.  

– Slim Connors made a motion to cancel the December 29 meeting.  The motion carried.  

-The president suggested scheduling a work day to patch the backstop.

Approval of Minutes from Prior Meeting.  The minutes for the July 2025 meeting were read by the Recording Secretary. A motion to accept the minutes was made by Steve Bear.  The motion carried.  

Treasurer’s Report. The Treasurer’s Report was read by the Treasurer.  The total balance of all accounts and CDs amounted to $105,307.21.  A motion to accept the report was made by Mike Kubarek. The motion carried.  See attached Members 1^st statement.  The Treasurer reported a CD was renewed at 3.74% interest and the only large bill for July 2025 was taxes.  The club has secured the services of an accountant with Smith, Elliot, and Kearns & Co., an accounting firm in Carlisle, to assist with filing of the tax exempt status of the club. See the attached report from the Treasurer.

Corresponding Secretary’s Report.  Matt Starcher reported that an email was sent to club members about submitting nominations for club leadership at the August meeting.     

NRA Training Group Activities Report.  The NRA Training Group Activities Report for August 2025 was read by Slim Connors.  The group training fund had an ending balance of $2,510.76.  Slim reported on the training activities for August.  The training activities scheduled for the upcoming months include an Instructors Clinic and two NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting courses. Slim also reminded members that during range shooting all windows in the club must be closed and exhaust fans on.    See the attached report.

-The Vice President reported on the situation with the construction of the new Sheetz.  It appears that progress is temporarily slowed.

-We are working to find an acceptable date for the “Stop the Bleed” course.  A message will go out to the club once this date has been finalized.  He is expecting a response this week.  

-The president thanked those who have been working on the exhaust fan project.  

New Business.  

–The president reported on a range safety violation involving shots outside the designated impact area.  The responsible individual discussed the incident with the president and resolved  ths issue.  The president wanted to emphasize to membership that if you are involved in a similar incident advise the club leadership as soon as possible.  

-Jim Yemzow made a motion to have the club provide matching funds up to $500 for contributions from members to the NRA-ILA.  The matching funds will cover contributions  received up until the end of September.  Checks need to be sent to the club and noted as ILA contributions.  The motion carried. 

-Nominations for leadership positions need to be submitted at the August meeting.   

For the Good of the Club.  -The president reported that we have not yet received an answer from Sheetz on our proposal to them.

–Mike Bonasera reported on the exhaust fan exterior shroud rebuild and noise abatement and the time period for which the work estimate is valid.  He also reminded membership that the Range Impact Fan is below the Target turners, above the target stanchions, and inside the edges near the wall.  Mike also noted that the list of trustees on the club website needs to be updated.  

Old Business.  

-The President gave an update on the correspondence with representatives from Sheetz.  He also discussed the counter offer to Sheetz of $14,000. 

-The president gave an update on the tax free status of the club and discussions with a tax attorney on the way forward.  

-The president mention that a survey will be sent to all members soliciting input on future activities members would like to see in 2026.  

New Business.  None  

For the Good of the Club.  The Vice-President informed the club that PA Representative Barb Gleim will be hosting a presentation on Fish and Game Rule changes on 6/5/2025 at 6:00 pm at West Pensboro Fire House.

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by the club President.

The Meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Officers and Members Present:  President, Vice President, Treasurer, Recording Secretary, and 1 trustee was present.  There were 20 members present.  

Approval of Minutes from Prior Meeting.  The minutes for the March 2025 meeting were read by the Recording Secretary. A motion to accept the minutes was made by Steve Bear.  The motion carried.  

Treasurer’s Report. The Treasurer’s Report was read by the Treasurer.  The total balance of all accounts and CDs amounted to $111,168.56.  A motion to accept the report was made by Courtney Genise. The motion carried.  See attached Members 1^st statement.

Corresponding Secretary’s Report.  Matt Starcher reported that he is working on an update to the list of club member email addresses.   

NRA Training Group Activities Report.  The NRA Training Group Activities Report for March 2025 was read by Slim Connors.  The group training fund had an ending balance of $3,914.40.   
Slim reported on the activities for April and the projected training for May. 
The CGC Training calendar with course descriptions and fees is posted to the Club website.  Slim also thanked club members for their support of NRA firearms safety and proficiency training.  See the attached report.    

New Members Accepted into the Club.   There were 2 new members accepted into the club.  See the attached roster spreadsheet.

4H Youth Small Bore Rifle Shooting Program – No Report 

Cowboy Action Shooters.  No Report

Membership Committee Report.   Wanda Bonasera reported that as of April 28, 2025 there were 437 members counting the 2 new members.  There are no new applications waiting to be  processed.  See attached report.

Technology and Security Committee.  No Report 

WPPL Pistol Team.  Current Season has ended, the new season will begin in September.    

Trustees Report.  

–Mike Bonasera reported on the work completed during the April 4 & 5 workdays and recognized the club members who participated on those days.  He also reported on the quotes received for the replacement of the exterior exhaust fan shrouds.  He will be reviewing each of these quotes with the bidders.  A discussion followed on the soundproofing of the exhaust fans. Don Kirk made a motion to allocate $1000 to work on the soundproofing of the exhaust fans.  Motion was approved.  See the attached Trustees Report.  

Old Business.  

-The President gave an update on their correspondence with representatives from Sheetz, and the meeting with the design engineers regarding the specifics of the road construction, drainage, and location.  He also discussed the counter offer to Sheetz of $12,000. 

New Business.  A motion was made by Courtney Genise to move the May club meeting to June 2.  The motion carried.  

For the Good of the Club.  The president presented the idea of the club hosting, in the Fall, a Swap Meet similar to what the Carlisle Fish and Game Club conducted.  Discussion followed.  The president then directed the Corresponding Secretary to send a message to the club members to assess the interest of the club to this possibility.  

The president also recognized and thanked Charles Essig for his donation of hearing and eye protection to the club for use in training and shooting activities.   

Adjournment.  Larry Kell made a motion to adjourn.  Motion Carried.  Meeting was adjourned at 7:53 pm.

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 by the Club President.

The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Officers and Members Present: President, Vice-President, and Treasurer, and one Trustee were present.    There were 24 members present.

Minutes for the 24 February 2025 meeting were read and approved.  Meeting Minutes were read by the Vice-President.  Motion to accept the minutes as read, was made by Darren Snow.  Motion to accept was seconded.  The motion carried.  

Treasurer Report was read and approved.   Treasurer report was submitted as written and read by the Treasurer.  The total balance of all accounts, checking, savings, CD’s amounted to $129,193.78 Motion to accept the Treasurer Report was made by Mike Kubarck and Seconded. The motion carried.  

Corresponding Secretary Report – Matt Starcher – Emails were sent to club members informing them of the April 4^th and 5^th workday at the club, the passing of club member/4H Rifle Team Coach John Ginrich, and the Carlisle Fish and Game Swap meet.

CGC Training Group Activities Report – Written report submitted by Slim Connors and read by Denny Kuehn. Slim reported that during the March 15th and 22nd the NRA Training group hosted an NRA Personal Protection outside The Home course. There were 4 shooters in the class, 3 who met the requirements of the course. NRA Instructors hosted an NRA Defensive Pistol Course on March 29, 2025. There were 3 shooters that completed the course. CGC NRA Instructors provided 7 hours of firearms safety and proficiency training for 4 shooters during the months of March.  On April 12, 2025 CGC NRA Basics of Rifle Shooting course has been canceled due to no one registering for the course. Future training class dates are posted on the website. See attached report for more details. Training group fund had a balance of $3,311.40

New Members – 7 new members joined the club.

4-H Youth Small-Bore Rifle Shooting Program – no report- President held a minute of silence in memory of John Ginrich passing. Motion for club to pay for background checks of 4H coaches, if they are not paid for by 4H organization, was made by President, motion was seconded, motion carried.

Cowboy Action – Rick Blosser-   no report

Membership Committee – Wanda Bonasera- read by Mike Bonasera-The club membership is 435 current members.  There are 0 pending applications.

Technology and Security Committee – John Haiduck via Matt Starcher – working on IT upgrades and relocation of security cameras.

WPPL Pistol Team – Dick Pryor- last match is 9 April.  Matches starting again in September.

Trustees Report – Mike Bonasera- Workday for April 4^th and 5^th is scheduled. Talked about pricing for range fans noise reduction.

Old Business – President gave update on meeting with Sheetz staff and how club is concerned about storm water runoff of Wrightstone Road. President is scheduling a meeting with site engineer. Sheetz has a planned start for construction on Feb 2026. 

New Business – Denny Kuehn made a motion to donate $1500.00 to Cumberland Co. SRT. Motion was seconded, motion carried. President updated membership on the status of the clubs 501c(7) tax exemption. It has been discovered that the exemption has been expired since 2011. President asked for motion to hire a tax lawyer to get the exemption reinstated. Mike Kubarck made a motion that $5000.00 be authorized for tax lawyer. Motion was seconded. Motion passed. President will keep membership up to date on status. 

For the Good of the Club – 

President thanked Larry Kell for acquiring belt material for the range backstop. Will send thank you to New Enterprizes Toland Plant.

Motion to Adjourn – was made by Larry Kell and seconded.  Motion carried.  The meeting was adjourned at 8:12 PM.
