Carlisle Gun Club Meeting Minutes
11/25/2019

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by the Club President.

The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Officers present:President, Vice President, Treasurer, Corresponding Secretary, Recording Secretary and 3 Trustees.  There were 28 members present.

The Minutes for the October 2019 meeting were read and approved. 

Treasurer’s Report was readand accepted.

Corresponding Secretary’s Report-Emails have been sent to keep members informed of range activities and the monthly meeting agenda.

NRA Training Group Report-CGC NRA Instructors conducted an NRA Basics of Personal Protection Outside the Homecourse for 5 shooters and all requirements were met. The 2020 Training calendar is posted on the Carlisle Gun Club website under the “Training” tab.

New Members- There were 8 new members processed into the Club.

4-H Sharpshooters– No Report.

Cowboy Action- The Cowboy Action group activities will resume in January.  Contact Rick Blosser for more information.

Membership Committee- Currently there are 424 active members and 33 new member applications.

WPPL Pistol Team- The teams are currently in 6thand 7thplace. By joining a team, you will improve your shooting skills and accuracy.   Contact Gary Gibson or Dick Pryor for more details.

Trustees Report– The lines on the range have been freshly painted, a motor has been installed on the air in-take and repairs have been made on the main entrance door’s dead bolt.  However, help is still needed to service the heaters. Also, after the recent snow a roof leak was discovered on the range.  Dick Pryor has volunteered to inspect the roof and possibly patch with rubber roofing.

Technology and Security Committee- The Committee is working on the needed upgrades.  The camera security system software agreement needs to be renewed. A motion was passed to authorize $300 for the license renewal and trip charge.

Old Business- None

New Business-

New Committees- It was suggested that funds be set aside to purchase laptops for the new chairmen of the Membership Committee and the Technology and Security Committee. Darren Snow has one laptop and is checking with his workplace for another one.

2020 Budget- The Budget will be reviewed and adjusted accordingly for the building, technology, etcetera.

Volunteers-Discussion was opened regarding compensating our CGC volunteers.  There are a number of members who consistently give of their time and talents. It was suggested that volunteers who meet a certain criteria be rewarded annual membership at no cost.  Further thought and discussion is needed to develop the criteria, and possibly a type of point system.  It was approved to table this discussion until February.

For the Good of the Club-

The December meeting will be held on the last Monday of the month as usual, so we can continue to process new members.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:58 pm
